The Dove and the Ant
One hot summer day, an ant was walking near a river in search of water. The sun was scorching, and the ant was very thirsty. As it walked along the slippery riverbank, the ant accidentally lost its footing and fell into the water. The current was strong, and the ant struggled to keep its head above the surface. It cried out for help, but no one was nearby to hear.
Luckily, a kind dove was resting on a tree branch above the river. Seeing the ant in trouble, the dove wanted to help. It looked around and spotted a large leaf floating on the water. The dove carefully picked up the leaf with its beak and dropped it close to the struggling ant.
The ant climbed onto the leaf and floated safely to the riverbank. Once out of the water, the ant was very grateful and thanked the dove for saving its life. The dove smiled and said, “You are welcome. It’s always good to help others in need.”
A few days later, the dove was perched on the same tree when a hunter came into the forest with a net. The hunter aimed to catch the dove to take it away. The ant saw what was happening and wanted to repay the kindness. Quickly, the ant crawled up the hunter’s leg and bit him hard.
The hunter yelled in pain and dropped the net. The dove flew away safely, thanks to the ant’s quick action. From that day on, the dove and the ant became best friends, showing that even the smallest acts of kindness are never forgotten.
