The Thirsty Crow
On a hot summer afternoon, a crow was flying around in search of water. The sun was blazing, and the crow was very thirsty. It flew over fields and trees but couldn’t find any water to drink. Finally, the crow spotted an old clay pot near a village.
The crow flew down and looked inside the pot. There was some water at the bottom, but it was very little and too low for the crow’s beak to reach. The crow tried to dip its beak into the pot, but it was too shallow, and the water was out of reach.
The crow thought hard about how to solve this problem. Then, it saw some small stones nearby. The clever crow picked up one stone at a time and dropped them into the pot. Slowly, the water level began to rise as more stones filled the pot.
After dropping many stones, the water finally came near the top of the pot. The crow dipped its beak into the water and drank happily, feeling refreshed at last. Satisfied, the crow flew away, glad that its smart thinking helped it survive the hot day.
